A drop of water
There is a secret hidden from distracted eyes, a truth so rich it beautifies, the meaning of our life the meaning of our I's
Did you ask the question? did you look at your reflection and follow a simple suggestion to finally ask yourself, Who am I?
No, you haven't. You were too satisfied with the story you were told, the name you were given and the journey for the gold. It was easier just to sit on the shoreline and never even realize, the ocean is right behind you. Seeing just the island, not looking for more, not looking within, Because you were satisfied...No, you haven't asked.
So, ask! Ask that question, bask in its essence, ponder that idea till your mind is luminescent, only one person can have the answer, only one person knows the truth. Ask your Self that question, the truth will ring louder than the lies, louder than suffering, louder than cries.
Beware of the six enemies and the eight nooses, beware of goddess illusions tricks and truces.
Carry on my friend on your epic quest, to discover the secrets hidden in your chest. With the sword of knowledge and the shield of devotion, turn and face the infinite ocean.
Ride upon the waves of truth, the reality of your own, this infinite ocean is your true home. You are a drop of water, not a speck of sand. Know the truth and realize, the folly of these lies.
You've been looking at the island and imagining all is possible, of life on land and all it holds slipping into a delicious trance you fell asleep, sweet slumber taking away troubles delivering dreams of wonder, you dreamt you were a sand. Life as a speck of sand took many forms and many faces, so many you forgot to keep tracks, keep count, and remember your traces. Dreams within dreams to many to ponder, you began to feel like a lost wanderer.
You wander through cycles that go like this Birth life death, birth life death birth life death on and on the lies disguised as truth and the truth disguised as myths, fables, and lies...all lies.
You wander through cycles that go like this Birth life death, birth life death birth life death on and on the lies disguised as truth and the truth disguised as myths, fables, and lies...all lies.
Then one day you saw something odd, a man or woman who felt like a god. The truth shining through eyes of love and their words caused tremors to descend from above. As your lies began to shatter, and your illusions turned to ash. You watched his actions knowing they were the path.
That old wise sage winked with one eye and asked the question...
Who are you?
The power of his question sent through his gaze, left you stumped and instantly phased. Perplexed as you were you gave an answer but it didn't feel true it didn't feel right, it wasn't the answer...you rambled for a while and then surrendered.
You looked upon the sage with eyes brimming with tears, you breathed a long breath and let out a sigh..."Who am I?" you asked the sage, voice choked with desperation." Who am I?"
The sage smiled at you with kindness and an open heart, saying nothing He slowly lifted his arm and pointed. Your eyes followed the direction and you turned around to face, the infinite ocean, the source of grace. Tears filled his eyes as he knew you understood, happy he was to deliver you to truth. So much love had for the infinite ocean, all he does now is wander in devotion. Singing songs of the names of that vast notion.
He whispered into your ear, names to remember, names to keep guiding you until your last breath
He gave you the means to dispel your illusions, the clinging you have for this great delusion.
He gave you the means to dispel your illusions, the clinging you have for this great delusion.
The secret mantras, methods, and mudras. Songs of the ancient ones and the enlightened buddhas.
Stories of the avatars, sages, heroines so that you may take guidance, instruction, and confidance from their wisdom
He finally said "My son you are a drop of that vast ocean, the drop contains the entire ocean and the ocean contains infinite drops, love is the essence of this ocean's waters, so serve with love and in love behold. The divine pair, lovers eternal" he paused a moment as tears streamed down his face " So long have I followed you, watching your steps, waiting for the moment when you might ask, but you never asked. I kept following until finally, you were ready and at last you asked! You are a drop of that vast ocean, not a sand upon the mirage that is that island, look now and see if you can find, anything that is not that immense sea! He is you, He is me, He is all I know! Yet he is his own, independent and aloof as if showing off and parading his might his prowess and delight.
Sing his names, sing his story, and bliss unlimited is your divine glory.
He is the indwelling witness, the Self within all. Love your Self and never forget, you are a drop of water, not a speck of sand.
