The Lila of Guru and Sisya

“The only thing worth writing about is the human heart in conflict with itself.”
-Willam Faulkner

The reality of Krishna's lilas display the various ways in which the devotee approaches the Supreme according to the inner yearnings of his or her heart, yet every devotee faces challenges presented by their very nature which pose as obstacles to achieving this innermost desire.
This conflict although generally is conceived as being negative, we should look upon it as the arrangement of Krsna to increase the love and mood of separation within the heart of the devotee.
We do not understand properly the nature of the heart, its master, and its ability to influence every aspect of our current reality...for better or for worse.
A very troubling aspect of our society today is the current norm and conception of guru tattva and the role of the appointed guru’s to extract submission with little or no expectation of a return in direct guidance or responsibility. How can I rightly submit myself to someone who does not know me, understand my nature, understand my intent, understand my hardships, struggles, and has no intention of directly helping in raising me out of such a quagmire?
The dissemination of diksa mantras does not constitute the final word of in regards to establishing the full guru/disciple relationship for even those who have diksa are not able to faithfully regard their diksa guru as their primary spiritual shelter.
It is my experience, that it is the Siksa or Diksa Guru who directly invests energy and time into the development of the disciple with care and attention that is due the submission of a fully surrendered disciple.
The quest for the true Guru marks the genuine desire for authentic spiritual guidance and service to Sri Krsna and thus allows for the real expression of vipralambha towards the manifest Supreme personalities representative.
Therefore It should not be a subject of complaint that Guru has concealed himself in such a way that we wander in confusion searching for him, We call him by his all powerful name, yet he comes only of his own accord, only when such a spirit of absolute dependency does he become known to the disciple!
When will that day be mine wherein the spirit of submission to the genuine Guru manifests in my heart and satisfies the internal dilemma of rightful surrender?
In me I find every fault, without any exception, without Sri Guru’s shelter, I am lost...Crying and crying I feign surrender hoping to catch the uncatchable.

Nilamani Krsna das searches far and wide yet Guru remains hidden to him.
