Completely meaningful

Traditional Tibet Mandala - Tibetan Buddhist Om, Om Mani Padme Hum and Ashtamangala Mandala

The meaning of life can only be formed when all principles, all truths, all factors, and all potentials are taken into account. Since gathering ALL the specific facts of  reality is a rather impossible task, we can at least conceptualise "Everything" as being existent yet impossible to measure. The Vedas describe truth as being the existence potency of being, they called this potential Sat, or Sandhini.

The indian mystics saw that you could find the essence of everything, in anything. The buddhist yogis like Tilopa, Naropa, and Padmasambhava. Described reality as an interplay between emptiness and form. A co-emergence of being based on the "emptiness" which gives room for the "everything". For the them, the emptiness wasn't a mere nothingness, it was in fact consciousness without any objectivity at all yet inherent with a potential for everythingness.

Since all reality is based on these two fundamental principles, without any room for more or less, they concealed this truth in the mere utterance of a single syllable sound, Om. Many texts have been written to expand on the meaning of "Om" and since its import is bottomless, without end, and every fresh, it only requires a small amount of analysis to understand just how much information is packed into that word.

รข€œShiva Shakti Miniature Painting India Veda Vedic Artwork Calligraphy Tantra/Tantric is the name scholars give to an inter-religious spiritual movement that arose in medieval India in the fifth century CE. ExpressedOm is comprised of, in its expanded form, of the sanskrit letters A, U, and M. The vowels are manifestations of consciousness, the void, the living nothingness, and the consonant is the container or vessel, the divine energy of all potential, the mother of reality, Maya. Thus, several meanings can be derived from understanding the relationship between this pair. The tantrics and vedic mystics called this the "Divine couple" and "Yugala" and kept them both as equals, although different in purpose or expression. Thus it seems life is a love affair of eternal opposites.

A yogi must find the flavor of this love which best suits his/her temperament. Sometimes this love affair is depicted as a neutral oneness, sometimes as a relationship of servant and served, sometimes as two best friends, parent and child, or lover and beloved. All of these are expressions of meaning based on understanding both the "Everything" and the "Nothing". Since these two are inseparable, and comprise the complete whole, true meaning can be attained. By understanding and realizing these truths the fullness my life became apparent and completely meaningful.

When you sit down to meditate, try reciting the syllable om, deeply, holding the tone in a steady way. I find this tunes me into the perception of meaning which I hold dear my heart, gives rise to blissfulness, forgiveness, strength, and wisdom. By worshiping and adoring our life, the everything/nothingness/being we fill our lives with the same quality of our adoration. Try it. It is simple and absolutely sublime.

Do you meditate on Om? leave a comment and tell me something about your experiences with this meditation, what you thought about this post, and any relevant questions or doubts about it.
