My Krishna

By Sri Nandanandana dasa Sometimes people say that they want to see God, or that God is not perceivable. And this is confirmed in the Vedic scripture, but with additional points of instruction on h…

In my life, there has been one constant which has been on my mind since the very beginning.  I cannot even recall the first time I saw him or heard his name. Sri Krishna, my Ista deva(Chosen favourite deity) is according to the Bhagavata Purana the original form of Godhead. There is so much that can be said about him that it is said the great thousand-hooded serpent Ananta-Sesha is constantly praising and describing him yet cannot find an end to his limitless qualities. I grew up learning of Krishna's pastimes with his parents, friends, lovers, and kinsmen. These stories have shaped much of my lifestyle and views on life because they are laden with very deep philosophical meaning. They often contain many discussions on spiritual and material subject matters which can be immensely valuable for learning how to navigate the ups and downs of life, relationships, and spiritual enlightenment. I would highly recommend reading as much about him as you can. Trust me, you won't regret it!

According to Vaishnavas, the variety in ways in which we can relate to him are infinite and thus are the ways he is perceived. It is said that Krishna reciprocates with each soul according to their particular taste and desire, In a simple way it could be said like this;

For an atheist, he is simply death, the finality to which all living entities must bow.

For those who live with a sense of reverence and servitude towards life, he is their master, the almighty God or Isvara in Sanskrit.

For the mystic Yogi, he is Nirvikalpa samadhi, the state of Self-Realisation, Nirvana.

For the Buddhist, he is the void or Sunyatta.

For the materialist, he is the world and all of its ingredients.

For the devotee, he is their life and soul, their master, friend, and relative.

For the topmost, he is the beloved, the lover, the charming and dashing master of pure Eros.

It has been said by the great Vaishnava masters that there is nothing which can be described which is not Sri Krishna.

Sri Krishna, resplendent with infinite opulence, weapons, associates, and abodes, is the true source and basis of all existence.

Sri Krishna is that personality which as completely harmonised all that exists within himself as it if were no more than a calf foot print.

Sri Krishna is that which we pursue as the object of perpetual desire throughout infinite lifetimes.

Sri Krishna is that which can only be understood by genuine loving service, free from all desires for liberation and enjoyment.

Sri Krishna is the one who gives true happiness.

Sri Krishna is the name of absolute consciousness and joy unlimited.

Sri Krishna is the darkness of the nights sky lit by the full moon.

Sri Krishna is the true friend of all.

Sri Krishna is the naughtiness of reality.

Sri Krishna is the one who teaches perfectly by example to value above all else the devotees who hold him in their hearts.

Sri Krishna is the all attractive nature of life.

Sri Krishna is bliss incarnate.

Sri Krishna is the complete perception of reality.

Sri Krishna is the heart of everyone.

Sri Krishna is the foster child of affection and praise.

Sri Krishna is the child of pure consciousness and saintly behaviour.

Sri Krishna is the Crown Jewel of all cowherd boys.

Sri Krishna loves milk, butter, yoghurt, and ghee (Sorry vegans :p )

Sri Krishna is the soul of all souls, the heart of all hearts, the lover, the friend, the master, the father, and the supreme Brahman, the divine light, the absolute centre of consciousness, the non-dual truth behind all duality, the protector of infinite universes, and the hero of the charming damsels of Vraja.

'Tremors from the heart' is all about glorifying Sri Krishna to remind everyone who they truly are and who they truly desire and love. May Sri Krishna dance upon your hearts and guide you through the Darkness of this deeply troubled time. May all your anxieties be relieved simply by hearing about the sweetness of the pastimes of God, a sweetness which awakens the true meaning of life;

Prema-Bhakti.
