Swans Eternal

In the core of the heart
the two swans sit
both ever pure
both ever free
One eats the fruit of acceptance and rejection
the other watches with compassion
The first sheds tears of illusion
The other wipes them with perfection
One is turned away
one is turned within
one cries
the other smiles
the other smiles
The guru sits in the space of illusion
like a mirror, he shows the inner space
When the crying swan sees his own reflection
he sees both himself and the other
Meeting himself for the first time
He knows only the other
Travelling along the river of love
avoiding the rivers of action and knowledge
the two swans sport together
in the flow of effortless existence
they play with illusions like magic tricks
appearance and disappearance
no longer cause any fear
Sharks and Crocodiles
cannot enter the river of love
Nilamani says "Oh friend, I was the sad swan but Guru lead me to safety
Now I see, Guru is the inward swan come before me!
Knowing this I cannot look anywhere that is not he
Stumbling in the bliss of Guru's feet
I simply mutter "Guru guru"
