An explanation of Om
Om, a single syllable used to express the entire manifest and un-manifest reality, known in three phases, three states, and nine principles. Om, composed of A, U, and M as well as Chandra, bindu, and nada. Om, which expresses through its simplicity, creation, maintenance, destruction, and that which is beyond the three. Om expresses the three states of consciousness, Waking, dreaming, deep sleep, as well as that which is beyond, Samadhi. Om, is everything, Om is everyone, om has 4 phases and ultimately expresses truth, consciousness, and bliss. A is Krsna, U is Radha, M is Jiva these three constitute the supreme reality known in the Vedas as Sri KRSNA Lila.
The transcendental pastimes of Sri Krsna are known as the ultimate conception of reality because they carry with them the highest meaning of life, the highest occupation of life, and the highest goal of life. They express deeply, the notion that Love is the highest goal, and supreme religion. Every aspect of Krsnas lilas are embedded with the wisdom a yogi needs to pass the tests of life and ultimately find Krsna hiding within himself.
The way in which he is born, the way he is hidden, the demons he kills, the lovers he loves, the friends he protects, the skillful artistry in which he performs all his activities sheds light on how we must also conduct ourselves.
However, the prime revelation of Krsna’s lilas are to be found in his devotees, his servants, his friends, his parents, his lovers. They, through their actions and words teach us the profound variety in which we can approach him and love him.
The yogis see him as their self, intimately connected to the very fabric of their existence knowing they are from him, by him, of him, they melt their minds and remove the cloud of separation and revel in the bliss of unity, neutrality, and appreciation. Their love defeats the host of fears and suffering that plagues the manifest material world and find themselves to be eternal and blissfully situated in suddha sattva, also known as Kailasha.
Those who are servants have also entered this stream of transcendence and have developed their love and intimacy to the point where they deeply desire to care for, protect, and worship their lord separate from themselves. They wake him by massaging his feet and singing sweet songs that hint at his beauty and his chivalry in love. They bathe him, massage him, and feed him with their very own hand. Their joy is beyond that of the yogi as Krsna is constantly experienced both within and without their selves.
Those who are friends have dissolved all sense of conceptualized knowledge of Krsnas magnanimity and godhead and have attained a position and attitude that is equal to the lord. They are constantly excited to partake in the host of games and banter that Krsna is so expert at playing. They find their life to be successful when they defeat him in wrestling, steal his lunch, or tease him till he pouts. They are Krsna’s peers, elder friends, and younger friends. Each with a distinct intimacy with Krsna that yields laughter, camaraderie, excitement, fun, entertainment, chivalry, and inside jokes known only to krsna and that individual.
The parents are all the elder gopas and gopis of vraja who look upon krsna with a sense of protectiveness and care, they follow after Nanda and yashoda and make Krsnas protection their life and soul. They see themselves as superior to Krsna and revel in seeing his charming behavior and skillful dancing. They fear for krsna when he is out with the cows and are relieved only when he returns safely, some of Krsna’s friends have their sense of friendship mixed with this mood and they are in charge of krsna’s protection when he is away with the cows. They always pray to Sriman narayana for Krsnas protection and chant magical charms and protective amulets to ward of any evil that may harm him.
The lovers of Krsna are many and of varied flavors, purity, and mood. Some want krsna for themselves, others want to be wanted by krsna, some are lusty others loving. Some are bold and some are shy. Some are completely indignant and rebellious and other completely submissive and surrendered. They love krsna with complete abandon, caring for little else then his pleasure and happiness. They go on living as if completely possessed and intoxicated by thoughts of krsna and hope for their re-union.
Of all the devotees, high and low, none can surpass the capacity for love of Krsna that is possessed by Srimati Radharani, She has lost all sense of selfishness and revels constantly in the tidal waves of bliss caused by separation, anticipation, and re-union with Krsna. Only she knows how to perfectly satisfy Krsna therefore she is the prime devotee from whom all other devotees learn the arts and sciences of pleasing Krsna. Srimati Radharani is the supreme object of worship and the supreme shelter of all Jivas, She has revealed from her heart the entirety of Krsna’s being and has founded the supreme religion, Madhurya krsna prema dharma. The highest ambition of the jiva is to eventually serve Srimati Radharani in the capacity of a young maiden, soley devoted to her, holding allegiance to her desire and never even mentally seeking to enjoy with Krsna. She must be will to evade his attempts at all costs and should keep herself fit for her service to Sri Radhe and the asta sakhis at all times.
The only means of attaining Krsna prema is through contact with a pure devotee, the purity of the devotee determines the purity of prema transmitted, therefore one must attempt to locate and associate with a devotee who holds this message as dearest and in a one pointed manner.
This secret has been revealed by Sri gauranga mahaprabhu who is none other than the combined form of Sri Radha govinda deva. He has graciously made himself available to all without consideration of qualification, austerity, purity, caste, birth, or age. Although he sets the price for prema very high, he has given Sri nityananda rama control of the marketplace knowing very well that Nitai has understood the value and meaning of prema to its fullest, he is confident in Nitais mercy and compassion, to see past the external and give the antidote to all jivas.
Sri nityananda Rama is the giver of all happiness and shelter, he is the embodiment of compassion, mercy, and spiritual ecstasy. A single tear from his lotus eyes can destroy all suffering, sinful reaction, and taste for material enjoyment. Sri Nityananda rama is therefore constantly crying for the fallen conditioned souls and chants the name gauranga specifically for their deliverance. Those who are wise associate with Nityananda rama constantly through his name, form, qualities, and pastimes. They know him to be their ultimate friend and benefactor, their supreme guru, and most compassionate savior. The millions of guru’s in this world have emanated from his heart and reveal him systematically through the various religious principles of the world. In vrndavana, he is known in two ways, as the supreme lord Balarama who manifests all the required paraphernalia, the dhama, and the devotees, for Krsna’s pleasure, and as Sri ananga manjari the queen of the cowerd maiden servitors of Srimati Radharani. He is the object of my constant rememberance.
Srimati Radharanis closest friends are Lalita and vishaka, of these two lalita is dearest and most loyal to Srimati radharani. Lalita has many servitors who assist her in her service to Srimati Radharani, of these Ananga manjari is the most dear and expert. Ananga manjari has many other young girls who help her and of these Rupa majari is the topmost. Rupa manjari is none other than Rupa goswami, the head of the Gaudiya sampradaya, The crown jewel of devotional preachers and the apple of the eye of Srimati Radharani. He has in his writings revealed the highest transcendental truths and practice as taught to him by Sri Gauranga mahaprabhu.
The philosophy, practice, and mood of the Chaitanya tree of Vaishnava dharma is one of unity in diversity, non-discrimination, equality, and love. It is the spiritual culmination of all varieties of religious principles and self-motivated love for Krsna and all his parts and parcels. Its prime message is that of compassion and love. Its only real rule is to remember Krsna and never forget him; its only real practice is the constant recitation of his names in blissfully powerful sankirtana and deep contemplative japa. Its simplicity, purity, and openness are its most valuable attributes.
I offer my respectful obeisance to the supreme youthful couple Sri radha govinda
Who are the self of the yogi, the lord of the devotees, the friend of the cowherds and pandavas,
the darling child of Nanda and Yasoda, and the valiant lover of the damsels of Vraja.
Sri Krsna is the self, the lord, the friend, the darling child, and lover of all jivas.
Sri Krsna is the Absolute truth in total.
There is only Krsna.
