The journey of the sleeping serpant

The material realm of sensory and mental experiences is composed of 24 aspects which interact with each other to provide the soul with the fabric and basis to express, experience, and carry out actions. This science of understanding the various components and the individual soul is known as the science of Sankhya.
The evolution of being
Originally the atman is one, and when it desires experience outside of itself, it then splits into two; the individual soul is known as Purusha and the variegated material ingredients  known as Prakriti.
By the interaction of these two the mind is born with its three parts, Manas, buddhi, and ahankara, which relate to the three gunas, sattva, rajas, and tamas, these evolve and begin to manifest the five elements with their corresponding sense organs. Space, the sense of hearing, and the auditory organ are first to manifest, then from the movements of sound, manifest the element of air, the sense of touch, and the skin. The friction caused by the movements of air and touch create heat and thereby the element of fire, the sense of sight, and the eye comes into being. The combination of fire and air create vapour which liquefies into the element of water, the sense of taste, and the tongue. Finally, this water settles over aeons and becomes earth, the sense of smell, and the olfactory organ.

Indra's Net
The Purusha, through the capacity of the minds three functions(intellect, self-identification, and memory)will identify itself with the body, the experiences relating to that particular body, and every memory related to it. This continually reinforces the identity the Purusa adopts. Due to this false identification, the Purusha continuously acts to serve the desires and demands of that particular body and identity.  This wheel of action and identification goes on for so long that the Purusa forgets itself and remains chained to the karma's, memories, and desires of that particular persona. This is the downward spiral, the snare of Indra's net, forgetfulness, and the true cause of bondage.

Yoga
These elements arise in the golden ratio, (1,2,3,5,8,13,21 etc) and follow the natural sequence of all geometric and mathematical rules. They should be purified through the processes of mantra, visualisation, pranayama, and puja, until they hold little power to cover and conceal the indwelling soul. When they are purified and karma's eradicated, the yogi or yogini should investigate the true Self via introspective meditation or Self inquiry.

The lowest realm of awareness is Muladhara, where the snake of self-identification lies resting in ignorance of its true nature.  This snake should be roused through the power of Devotion, knowledge, yoga, and mantra, and caused to move slowly and carefully through the central pathway, to the 6 upper realms of consciousness where she returns to the thousand petal lotus. There she reunites with the Atman, and the Atman wakes up once again to bask in its true identity.

This journey is the true nature of Yoga.

Love for truth
There the Atman recalls her true nature,
a young girl of infinite complexion,
made of love and total affection.
She serves only the queen and king of the heart,
Sri Radha Syamasundara, their love is her art.
Bringing these two together is her prime feat,
her joy knows no bounds when her task is complete.
Eternally relishing the love of these two,
she drinks and drinks then shares it with you.

Beg her mercy and beg for her glance,
the pure devotee is our only chance.
Through guru's grace you may get a chance,
to taste the ambrosia of her sweet face,
serve with care and utter attention the syllables of her sweet mention.
Chant the mantra and awaken your devotion, pure emotion,
In this lifetime you dive in ocean of bliss,
the centre of love, the heart of the heart, the taste of true loves real kiss.
